Corrington Illustration Set
Illustration set made for the 2024 Corrington Award Ceremony at Centenary College of Louisiana. Each image is based on a scene or theme from the short story collection “The Ones Who Don’t Say They Love You” by Maurice Carlos Ruffin.
A view of colorful New Orleans. Pictured is both the color and life of the city as well as the smaller details of the people who live there. 
Titled after the short story, the image depicts the brief passing of a professor turned street thief and his wife, chemist turned sex worker on the street. 
The image takes the color palette for the Corrington materials and flips it on its head. The figures represent the fluidity of gender within the novel. 
In reference to one of the scenes in the novel where a transgender woman takes a picture on the horse of a civil war monument. 
Purpose
The images were used in the creation of promotional materials for the Corrington Award Ceremony including invitations and programs
